Mrs. Rosa Shular Stewart, 102, formerly of Eddleman Road, died Thursday, July 1, 2004, at Brian Center, Concord, after being seriously ill for two weeks. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 3, 2004, at Center Grove Lutheran Church. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The service will be conducted by the interim pastor of Center Grove Lutheran Church, the Rev. David L. Martin. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Concord. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born Sept. 9, 1901, in Stokes County, she was the daughter of the late Josh Shular and Julia Ann Ellis Shular. Mrs. Stewart was a homemaker and baker. She was a member of Center Grove Lutheran Church. Her hobby was needlework. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lillington E. Stewart, and son, Jack Stewart. Survivors include three daughters Ruth Noblitt, Kannapolis, Frances Bostian, Landis, and Vera Robertson, Gastonia; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. The family of Mrs. Stewart would like to express its gratitude to the administration and the entire staff at the Brian Center for the loving care given to Rosa and her family.
