Ruby Nell Childers

Mrs. Ruby Nell Dickson Childers, 102, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016, at Carrington Place Rehabilitation and Living Center in Matthews.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12 pm Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ron Bushey and Rev. Mark Dickson will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home prior to the service.

Mrs. Childers was born July 4, 1913 in Hart County County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Eddie Dickson and the late Omey Byrun Dickson. She worked for Cannon Mills as a towel department inspector. She was a charter member of Charity Baptist Church in Kannapolis.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Childers was proceeded in death by her husband, Joe L. Childers; and her brothers Gartrell Dickson, Arthur Dickson, and Duel Dickson.

She is survived by daughter, Brenda “Joyce” Scarborough and her husband, Richard, of Charlotte, and two sisters, Audra Owens and Leotis Clark, both of Anderson, SC.
