Mrs. Ruby Elizabeth Adams Foster, 87, a resident of Big Elm Nursing Center and formerly of Rainbow Drive, Kannapolis, died Saturday, July 2, 2005, at the nursing center. Ruby was a shinning example of a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She will be sorely missed by everyone who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Clayton Palmer, Jr. will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born January 15, 1918, in Wilkes County, she was a daughter of the late John Anderson Adams and Cora Lee Tedder Adams. She had lived in this area most of her life and retired in 1982 from the spinning room of Cannon Mills, Plant One in Kannapolis. She was a member of Clermont Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Smith Foster, six sisters, and a son-in-law, Bill Eldreth. Survivors include two daughters, Junie Gay Eldreth of Concord and Barbara Messer and husband, Bill, of Buford, Georgia; two sons, Jack Foster and wife, Peggy, of Silver Springs, Florida and Walt Foster and wife, Ethel, of Kannapolis; a brother, James W. "Bill" Adams of Texas; and numerous, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
