Ruby Harwood Johnson

Mrs. Ruby Harwood Johnson, 94, of Iris Avenue, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Five Oaks Manor. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Tom Cabaniss will officiate. Interment will follow at 3 p.m. at Sardis United Methodist Church in Candor with the Rev. Clarence Garner officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Born June 5, 1911, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late William C. Harwood and Louvenia McCrary Harwood. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Her husband, Harold Aaron Johnson, preceded her in death in 1976. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Avalyne) Frye of Kannapolis, Ms. Janice Aldridge of High Point and Ms. Jane Hilburn of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
