Ruby "Peggy" Mullis

Mrs. Ruby "Peggy" Lee Mullis, 91, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2026, in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Solid Rock Worship Center. Rev. Michael Wooldridge will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm to 12:45 pm Thursday at Solid Rock Worship Center.

Peggy was born December 11, 1934 in Chesterfield, SC. She was a daughter of the late Earley Crowley and Minnie McGugan Crowley. She worked for Cannon Mills Co. for 42 years as personnel clerk. She was a member of Solid Rock Worship Center. She was a previous member of Mt. Mitchell Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years.

Peggy loved the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her faith in God and her church family were very important to her. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, quilting, and fishing. She has been in declining health for two years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Sonny" Mullis, two sons, William R. Mullis and Jimmy Earley Mullis; two brothers, Earley Crowley, Jr. and Laborde Crowley and sister, Helen Gilmore.

Peggy is survived by her daughter, Linda Lowder and husband Dwight of Kannapolis; brother, Ronnie Crowley and wife Brenda of Ruby, SC; two sisters, Margie Kemp of China Grove and Judy Sellers of Chesterfield, SC; granddaughter, Diane Lowder of Kannapolis and two grandsons, Shannon Lowder and wife Penny of Concord and William Mullis, Jr. and wife Kristie of Ruby, SC.
