Ruby Josephine Weddington Richardson

Mrs. Ruby Josephine Richardson, 94, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, at her home in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ron Hartman will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 am to 11:45 am Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Ruby was born June 16, 1932 in Kannapolis. She was a daughter of the late Crawford Octavus Weddington and Barnie Josephine Bailey Weddington. She retired from Cabarrus Hospital and she formerly worked for Dr. White in Kannapolis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Martin "Glenn" Richardson; three brothers, Alvin Weddington, Billy Weddington, James Weddington; and sister, Margaret Brown.

Ruby is survived by daughter, Glenna R. Baker and husband Kenneth of Kannapolis; son, Dale Crawford Richardson and wife Kathy of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren, Garrett Richardson and wife Amanda, Colby Richardson, Kyle Baker, and Kenzie Morrison; seven great grandchildren, Finnegan Richardson, Boone Richardson, Lillian Cross, Aidenn Bethea, Bella Morrison, Alexis Baker, and Brandon Baker.
