Ruby Doris Shue Thomasson

Mrs. Ruby Doris Shue Thomasson, 87, passed away Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at Abernethy Laurels in Newton.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Grace Lutheran Church. Rev. Michael Frye will officiate. Interment will be at 1:00 pm Monday, August 8, 2022 at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 2:45 pm Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Thomasson was born August 21, 1934 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Walter Shue and Lucy Evelyn McHargue Shue. She was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Collene Scoggins and Joyce Oliphant; brother, James "Jim" Shue; and grandson, Brian Throneburg.

Mrs. Thomasson is survived by daughter, Patricia "Patty" Throneburg and husband Keith of Hudson; one grandson, Chris Throneburg and wife Gennifer; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Logan, Grayson and Emma; sister, Mary Ruth Austin and husband Raymond of Salisbury; and sister-in-law, Nancy Shue.
