Obituary

Ms. Ruby Lee Wagoner, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Ruby was born August 16, 1933 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Pink James Wagoner and Martha Lou Deamie Ervin Wagoner. Throughout her life, she was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit and unwavering love for her family. She had a special way of making those around her feel loved, welcomed and cared for; especially the extended family at Kannapolis Rehabilitation (formerly Transitional) and Atrium Rehabilitation, where she would visit every week to make them feel loved and special.

Family was the most important part of Ruby's life. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. Her love, wisdom, laughter and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be remembered for always having a joke to tell to bring a little joy to everyone's life. Those who knew Ruby will remember her for her unwavering faith, sense of humor and her love and caring for everyone she met. Her presence brought comfort and joy to many and her memory will remain a blessing to everyone fortunate enough to have known and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Louise Bost, Betty Wingler and Mary Linker; and three brothers, Pink "Edd" Wagoner, Boyd Wagoner and Wiley Gaither Wagoner.

Ruby is survived by family and extended family.

A celebration of Ruby's life will be 12:00 pm Monday, September 14, 2026, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bob Harvey will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 11:45 am Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who cared for Ruby and supported the family during this time.

Though she is no longer with us, Ruby's love will remain forever in the hearts of those she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered until the day we meet again.

Memorials may be sent to Carolina Caring Hospice Foundation, 3975 Robinson Road, Newton, NC 28658.
