Ruth Barr Ballard

Mrs. Ruth Barr Ballard, 72, of Woodgate Road, died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at her home. Funeral services are scheduled for 12 Noon Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Perry Ballard will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:45 am Wednesday prior to the service. At other times, the family may be contacted at the home of a daughter, Anita Linker, 203 Timberfield Trail, China Grove. Mrs. Ballard was born October 26, 1937 in Columbus County, NC. She was a daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Barr and Minnie Lail Barr. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two children, Patty Rayfield and Donnie Kerley. Mrs. Ballard is survived by her husband, Tommy Ballard; two daughters, Anita Linker and husband Jeff of China Grove and Deborah Sheets of Salisbury; three brothers, David Barr, Paul Barr and wife Ann and Bobby Barr, all of Kannapolis; one sister, Betty McDonald of Kannapolis; three step-children, Perry Ballard, Susan Noble and Mickie Younce; twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
