Ruth Burton Cruse

Mrs. Ruth Burton Cruse, 85, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2018, at CHS-NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church. The Rev. Rafe Allison will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:45 pm Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Cruse was born October 22, 1932 in Comer, GA. She was the daughter of the late Clarence Eldo Burton and Ida Drake Burton. She graduated from J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis. Ruth was the Co-owner and Secretary for Cruse Meat Processing Company. She was a member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church and attended Cold Water Lutheran Church. She served as an organist and pianist for various churches in the community. She also taught piano for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Max Edward Cruse, Sr. on March 2 2018; and a brother, Robert Burton.

Mrs. Cruse is survived by two sons, Max Edward "Eddie" Cruse, Jr. and Mark W. Cruse, both of Concord; and two grandsons, Jeremiah Stephen Cruse and Nicolas Elijah Cruse.
