Ruth Anne Floyd Blockover

Mrs. Ruth Anne Floyd Blockover, 61, of 1302 West C Street, Kannapolis, died Friday, March 21, 2008, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, as a result of injuries received from a car crash. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, at Westside Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Charles Savage will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home. Born June 19, 1946 in Cabarrus County, she was the daughter of the late Earsel Floyd Hendrix. She was employed with Carpenter Industries in Concord and was employed for many years with Cannon Mills/Pillowtex. Mrs. Blockover was a member of Westside Church of the Nazarene. She was a hard worker and was loved by her family, church family, neighbors and friends. Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Ira Von Blockover; daughter, Linda Anne Blevins and husband, Zane Wesley Blevins, of Kannapolis; two sisters, her older sister, Dotty Arnette, of China Grove and Renee Sawyer of Kannapolis; a brother, Billy Floyd of China Grove; three grandchildren, Nikki Lynn Kilby, Tony Eugene Kilby and Kimberly Starr Kilby; three great-grandchildren, McKenzie Pagelyn Kilby, Skyler Brandon Gardner and Natalye Nycole Carey; and the family pet, Princess Brittany Blockover.
