Ruth Souther Lee

Mrs. Ruth Souther Lee, 81, of West "G" Street, Kannapolis, died Thursday, March 20, 2008. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Joel Ervin and the Rev. Max Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church for one half hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2008 at Lady's Funeral Home. Mrs. Lee was born in Iredell County on November 14, 1926, a daughter of the late, Leonard I. Souther and Susan Jarvis Souther. She retired from the card room of Cannon Mills Plant 4 and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Ann Lee; and two sisters, Ovel Hayes and Johnsie Duncan. Survivors include her husband, Norman Lee; a son Leonard James Lee and his wife Catherine, of China Grove; two sisters, Juanita Edgiston and Leona Wilson, both of Mooresville; two grandsons, Steven Michael Lee and Brandon Scott Lee and wife, Sabrina; and two great grandchildren, Zac and Zoie.
