Ruth Raines Lynch Johnson

Mrs. Ruth Raines Lynch Johnson, 90, of 819 South Juniper Street, Kannapolis, died Thursday, July 23, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Sell will officiate. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Born on July 7, 1919 in Johnston County she was a daughter of the late Ezra Charles Raines and Iva Turner Raines. She was a homemaker and retired from Cannon Mills Co. In addition to her parents she was preceded by a son, Rodney Dean Lynch on May 8, 1971. Survivors include four sons, Steve Lynch and wife Peggy of Kannapolis, Roy Lynch and wife Anna of Glen Allen, VA, George "Buddy" Lynch and wife Dot of Amelia, VA, Richard M. Lynch and wife Lydia of Bumpus Mills, TN; three daughters, Doris L. Lynch of Kannapolis, Edith Porter and husband Mike of Troutman, Linda Melton of Salisbury; one sister Gladys Lee of Knightdale; a brother-in-law, Jimmy E. Pethel of Kannapolis; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great- grandchildren. Memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
