Samuel Richard Rivers

Mr. Samuel Richard Rivers, 64, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at his residence.

A memorial service is scheduled for 7:30 pm Thursday, May 11, 2017, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel in Kannapolis. Mr. Rob Ramsay will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:15 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Rivers was born January 11, 1953 in Monroe, NC. He was a son of the late Thomas Alton Rivers and Bobbie Jean Knight Rivers. Before retiring, he worked as a communications engineer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Rivers is survived by his wife, Sylvia Godwin Rivers; daughter, Amy Rivers Keller and husband Chris of Mt. Ulla; brother, Thomas Rivers and wife Pam of Fort Mill, SC; two grandchildren, Caylie and Taylor Keller; and three nieces, Misty, Emily and Olivia Rivers.
