Mrs. Sara Madeline "Maggie" Bullard Combs was born February 13, 1931, in Morven, to the late Eli and Martha Purvis Bullard. She died on Dececember 11, 2007, at her residence. She worked for more than 42 years in the finishing department of Cannon Mills, retiring as a quality control inspector. She was a member of the ladies Sunday school class of Pine Ridge Baptist Church in China Grove. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Ray Combs; a sister, Dora Ruth Bullard; two brothers, Charles Bullard and James Bullard; and grandchildren, Michael Combs and Malissa Combs. Surviving are her children, Dianne (Wayne) Lambert; Deborah (David) Robinson; Michael (Yoloanda) Combs; grandchildren, Lori Honeycutt, Tisha Ingram, Lisa Ferguson, Amy Lambert, Ashley Lambert and Amanda (Chad) Parker; great-grandchildren, Andy Nichols, Chandler Honeycutt, Noah Ferguson, Luke Ferguson, Riley Ferguson, Caleb Ingram and Madison Lambert; sisters, Dorothy Echerd of Granite Quarry, Margie Hamilton and Brenda Beaver, both of Salisbury, Shirley Miller of Landis and Linda Stewart of Mooresville. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. George Bradshaw officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. The family will make headquarters at 1205 Grace Ave. in Kannapolis.
