Mrs. Sarah Hubbard Carter, 74, of 1709 West A Street, Kannapolis, died Monday, December 6, 2004, at her residence, following a serious illness of two weeks. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2004, at Kannapolis Cemetery. The Rev. Robert D. Howard will officiate. The family will receive friends Thursday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born May 3, 1930, in Fayetteville, NC, she was a daughter of the late Milton L. Hubbard and Vesta McAlister Hubbard. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Hubert W. Carter; a daughter, Linda Price Bumgarner of Kannapolis; four stepdaughters, Debra Hamrick and her husband, David, Cathy Yarborough and her husband, William, Sherry Fisher and her husband, Curtis, all of Salisbury and Darla Carter and Tim Boardman of Cleveland; a sister, Alda Hubbard Mullis of Kannapolis; three brothers, Milton Hubbard of Omaha, Nebraska, LaFoy Hubbard and Larry W. Hubbard, both of Kannapolis; a grandson, Timothy Lee Smith of Kannapolis; a great-granddaughter, Ashley R. Smith; 13 step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and a good friend, Carol Carter.
