Sarah Aldridge Sossoman

December 23, 1931 — November 6, 2006

Mrs. Sarah Aldridge Sossoman, 74,a loving mother and grandmother, who loved to shop and travel with her family, died Monday, November 6, 2006, at NorthEast Medical Center. She lived at 703 Elizabeth Street in Concord. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at New Gilead United Church of Christ. The Rev. Jimmy Norred will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Lady's Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. At other times they will be at the residence. Mrs. Sossoman was born December 23, 1931, in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late George A. Aldridge Sr. and Mary Bost Aldridge. She was a lifetime member of New Gilead United Church of Christ where she was active in the Women's Guild. She worked as a school guard at R. Brown McAllister for the City of Concord and was also the secretary of Sossoman Electric. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Harrison Sossoman; a sister, Frances Aldridge Riley; and a brother Billie Frank Aldridge. Survivors include a son Daryl Sossoman and wife Karen of Concord; two grandsons, Joseph Scott Sossoman and Matthew McCall Sossoman; three sisters, Mary Aldridge Wilson of Kannapolis, Janice Aldridge Wilson and Rebecca Aldridge, both of Concord; and two brothers, George A. Aldridge, Jr. and Carl Eugene Aldridge, both of Concord. Memorials for Mrs. Sossoman may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Boy Scout Camp Road, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
