Shannon Louise Holman Joyce

Shannon Louise Holman Joyce, 51, of Kannapolis, died June 22, 2022 at Tucker Hospice House.

A celebration of life will be held on July 3, 2022 at First Baptist Church, Kannapolis, receiving friends at 2 with the service at 3:00 pm.

Shannon was born June 23,1970 in Concord. She was the daughter of David R. Holman, Sr. and Joyce Honeycutt Holman, and the wife of Britt C. Joyce of Kannapolis. He was the love of her life.

In addition to her parents and husband she is survived by her brother David R. Holman, Jr. and wife Ramona L; two nieces, Jordan Holman Middleton (Jeremy) and Marisa Holman Loftin (Dustin); beloved great niece and nephews, Brooklyn, Ryker, Maverick, and Linkoln; sister-in-law, Debbie L Joyce; brother-in-law, Keith (Lori) Joyce; nephews, Preston Joyce and Andrew (Brittany) Handy; and great niece, Alaia.

She was preceded in death by grandparents, Charles and Christine R. Holman and Judge and Louise S. Honeycutt; mother and father-in-law, Wesley “Jimmy” Joyce and Betty Carter Joyce; brother-in-law, Dwayne Joyce; and great-nephew, Michael David.

Shannon was a lifelong resident of Kannapolis, attending Kannapolis City Schools and graduated from A. L. Brown High School. She was active in various clubs, activities, and the “Big Green Machine”. She then attended Wingate College before transferring to UNCC and graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Human Services and a minor degree in Substance Abuse. Her dream was to become a counselor. During and after college she worked part time and full time at many local businesses such as The Brass Exchange, Short and Sweet Children's Shop, Pauline’s, and Day Enterprises while taking evening classes towards her Master’s degree.

Shannon had a lifelong love of reading and learning new things. She loved photography and her favorite hobby was making beaded jewelry. The greatest accomplishment of her life was to follow Jesus and be a child of God. Her faith was the guiding force of her life that made Shannon the unique person she was destined to be.
