Sharon Yvette O'Neal

Mrs. Sharon Yvette Huneycutt O'Neal, 48, passed away Monday, January 6, 2014, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Marler Starnes and Rev. George Morris will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:45 pm Thursday at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church.

Mrs. O'Neal was born December 18, 1965 in Stanly County. She was a daughter of Charles Ellis Huneycutt of Kannapolis and the late Janie Starnes Huneycutt. She was a nurse with Piedmont Pediatrics in Concord. Sharon was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Charles Huneycutt.

Mrs. O'Neal, in addition to her father, is survived by her husband, Steve O'Neal; daughter, Amber O'Neal of China Grove; adopted daughter, Shelby Diona Huneycutt; son, Stevenson “Caleb” O'Neal, USMC of Camp Pendleton, CA; sister, Kimberly Clutts and husband David of China Grove; granddaughter, Kiley Reece O'Neal of China Grove; and her mother-in-law, Elma Key of Mt. Ulla.
