Shirley Ann Bowers

Mrs. Shirley Ann Wright Bowers, 77, passed away Tuesday, December 24, 2013, at CMC-NorthEast in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Patterson will officiate. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, the family will be at the home of a son, David Bowers, 2124 Hopedale Street, Kannapolis.

Mrs. Bowers was born May 12, 1936 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late James Alfonso Wright and Nellie Marks Wright. She graduated from A.L. Brown High School in 1955 and retired in 1973 from Cannon Mills.

Mrs. Bowers is survived by two daughters, Katherine Diane Hancock of Kannapolis and Gwendolyn Delane Helms and husband Tim of Concord; two sons, David Lamont Bowers and wife Pam and Robert Eugene Bowers, Sr. of Kannapolis; sister, Barbara Elizabeth Faggart and husband Harold of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Chase Bowers, Jimmy Bowers, Robert Eugene Bowers, Jr. and Sunshine Marie Hancock; and five great grandchildren, Dakota Wayne Hancock, Austin Lee Hancock, Kesler Jamie Leach, Jordan Bowers and Oliviah Bowers.
