Mrs. Shirley Gray Morgan, 73, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, June 15, 2012 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmie Bartley will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm, Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Morgan was born June 18, 1938 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late William Gray and Sara Gray. She graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School and worked as a sales associate for Wal-Mart in Concord. Shirley enjoyed sewing for her family. She liked to read and do crafts. Shirley was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church in Concord for over 50 years. She was a former choir director and secretary. She loved her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Morgan; sisters, Margaret McGraw and Mildred Horton and brothers, Charles Gray and Hoyal Gray.

Mrs. Morgan is survived by her daughters, Judy Reid and husband Harry of Kannapolis, Donna M. Cook and husband W.E. "Toad" of Mt. Pleasant and Diane Cunningham and husband Brian also of Mt. Pleasant; son, Jimmy Keith Morgan and fiancée, Cody Hopkins of Concord; sister, Mary Alice Mainer of Concord; brothers, Don Gray of Rockwell and Babe Gray of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Chrissy Mack, Justin and Sumner McBride, Gracie Cook, Brittany, Jessie and Morgan Cunningham, Dylan, Jacob and Emma Morgan and seven great grandchildren.
