Shirley Ann Teeter's Obituary
Mrs. Shirley Ann Pressley Teeter, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Salisbury.
A memorial service is scheduled for 10:30 am Friday, July 3, 2015, at Lady’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Duane Melton will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 am Friday prior to the service at Lady’s Funeral Home.
Mrs. Teeter was born February 22, 1935 in Cabarrus County. She was a daughter of the late Bruce L. Pressley and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Honeycutt Pressley. Mrs. Teeter retired as owner/operator of Teeter’s Cottages and Apartments at Kure Beach. She was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the women’s circle. Mrs. Teeter and her late husband were painters for the Tom Clarke Gnome figures. Shirley enjoyed all kinds of craft work and was an avid golfer.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Teeter; sister, Ada Powers; and two brothers, Carl and B.L. Pressley.
Mrs. Teeter is survived by her son, Wes Teeter and wife, Toni, of Salisbury; two grandchildren, John W. and Michaela K. Teeter, both of China Grove; three sisters, Vera Carpenter of Davidson, Betty Rhodes of Florida and Louise Vereen of Concord; and two brothers, Sam Pressley of Landis and Luther Pressley of Florida.
