Stella Monzula Smith

Mrs. Stella Monzula Crookshanks Smith, 94, passed away Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at Genesis ElderCare of Mooresville.

A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 pm Friday, January 2, 2015, at Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte. Rev. Carl Haynes will officiate

Mrs. Smith was born September 15, 1920 in Cornstalk, WV. She was the daughter of the late Russell Crookshanks and Goldie Smith Crookshanks. She retired from Belk’s and Grants Department Stores.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Boyd Smith, Sr., and her daughter, Helen S. Teeter.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her son, Wallace “Boyd” Smith, Jr. and wife Karen of China Grove; son-in-law, Robert Teeter of Charlotte; brother, Willie Crookshanks of Maryland; three grandchildren, Wallace “ Boyd" Smith, III, Jason Robert Teeter and Nelsie Lawing.
