Mrs. Sybil Alene Goble Shaw, 88, of China Grove, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 27, 2018, at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 am Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Salisbury National Cemetery. Rev. Phil Thorsen will officiate. Interment will follow.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shaw was born November 24, 1929 in the Furr Township in Stanly County. She was a daughter of the late Lattie Lemuel Goble and Jessie Lee Crayton Goble. Sybil was a 1947 graduate of J.W. Cannon High School in Kannapolis and a 1950 graduate of Lenoir Rhyne College in Hickory. She taught at Jackson Park Elementary School, which she attended as a child, for several years prior to moving to California, where she also taught school at Norwalk-La Mirada School District.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Elaine G. Walsh; and brother, Kermit Crayton Goble.
Mrs. Shaw is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Jack Curtis Shaw, of the home; four nieces; two nephews; six great nieces; six great nephews; four great-great nieces; and two great-great nephews, all of Georgia.
