Sylvia Thompson Kilby

Mrs. Sylvia Thompson Kilby, 89, passed away Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Brian Center Cabarrus in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Monday, March 22, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. John Futterer will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 12 to 12:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kilby was born July 12, 1931 in Wilkesboro. She was a daughter of the late Elvin Joseph Thompson and Rebecca Absher Thompson. She helped run Kilby's Florist in Kannapolis. Throughout her retirement, Sylvia loved spending time watching the birds and wildlife at her 'back home" farm in North Wilkesboro and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Thomas Kilby, Sr.

Mrs. Kilby is survived by two sons, Ralph Thomas Kilby, Jr. and wife Tammy of Kannapolis and Timothy Brian Kilby of North Wilkesboro; and granddaughter, Kaitlyn Newton and husband Jay of Atlanta, GA.
