IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Talley Jeanne
Winchester
March 14, 1952 – January 31, 2026
Talley Jeanne Winchester, 73, passed away on January 31, 2026, after a recent complicated health journey. She is now at rest, surrounded by the peace she so generously gave to others throughout her life.
Talley is survived by her devoted husband and caregiver, Jack Fox; her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Brook and Ryan Horn; her grandson, Riley Horn; her brother, Mike Winchester; her sister, Susan Sawyer; and a large, loving extended family who will miss her beyond measure. She was preceded in death by her cherished siblings, Cindy and Rusty Winchester, whose recent passings we all still carry in our hearts, as well as parents Rush and Barbara Winchester.
Talley was a spectacular artist which we all had the pleasure of experiencing first-hand. She was a lover of music, an avid sharer of song lyrics, and a beautiful singer. She was a true doctor of plants, finding deep joy and peace working in her yard. The beach was her other place of zen, and she longed for the sights, sounds, and smells when away too long. A lifelong impeccable dresser, she was rarely without one of her iconic scarves—arguably the finest scarf collection on the East Coast. Above all else, she was the loveliest mother, grandmother, sister, wife, and friend imaginable.
She was a force of good in this world—always looking beyond herself and finding her greatest joy in the happiness of others. Talley consistently put people before her own comfort or recognition, regardless of distance or circumstance. A constant champion of those she loved, she was deeply empathetic and genuinely excited by the lives of others. She could tell you exactly what was happening with every single person in her large family, because she truly cared and felt proud to be part of each life.
Talley never let a birthday pass without notice. Each one was commemorated with intention, love, and the most elaborate and thoughtful cards imaginable—small works of art that reflected the care she poured into every relationship.
She was deeply loved and will be missed more than words can express. Yet she leaves behind a beautiful legacy of kindness, connection, and love, along with memories her family and friends will forever hold close.
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
