Thelma Hooks Milstead

Mrs. Thelma Hooks Milstead, 88, passed away Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, December 1, 2025, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Debbie Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:45 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Thelma was born December 21, 1936 in Rowan County. She was a daughter of the late Robert Hooks. She worked at What-a-Burger for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles "Buck" Milstead; and son, Randy Shuping.

Thelma is survived by daughter, Tammy Clay of Concord; son, Keith Shuping and wife Tammy of Rockwell; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
