Theodore Ronald Darling

Mr. Theodore Ronald "Ted" Darling, 66, of 2207 Brantley Road, Kannapolis, died Monday, February 28, 2005, at Five Oaks Manor. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2005, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Leon Hawks will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born May 19, 1938, in Worcester, MA, he was a son of the late Henry Otis Darling and Jane Singleton Darling. After the death of his father, he was raised by his step-father, the late Irving Chester Darling. He was an automobile mechanic and a die-hard fan of John Wayne, Dale Earnhardt and the L.A. Dodgers. Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Jane Demousset and her husband Edward of Grandview, MO and Jennifer Jane Darling of Salem, OR; three sons, Ted Haynes of Anaheim, CA, Ron Darling and his wife Lynn, and Stephen Darling and his wife Casey, all of Kannapolis; five sisters, Emma Jane Sumner and her husband Lamar of N. Charleston, SC, Marybelle Acosta and her husband Emilio of Wilmington, CA, Loretta Darling of Long Beach, CA, Edith Birdsall and her husband Don, and Norma Jean Darling, all of Sun City, CA; seven grandchildren, Josh, Tina, John, Cierra, Amelia, Nicholas and Elizabeth; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 6000 Fairview Road, Suite 200, Charlotte, NC 28210.
