Thomas "Tom" Harry Bonzo, Sr.

Mr. Thomas "Tom" Harry Bonzo, Sr., 62, of North Chapel Street, Landis, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at his home. He was a loving husband, father, uncle, grandfather and friend to all. Everyone that knew him was touched by his kindness and hospitality. A funeral service is scheduled for 7:30 pm Friday, January 20, 2012, at Central Baptist Church in Kannapolis. Rev. Curtis Parker and Rev. David Franks will officiate. Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Salisbury with full military rites at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 23, 2012. Anyone wishing to follow in procession to the cemetery should be at Lady's Funeral Home by 12:00 pm on Monday. The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:15 pm Friday at Central Baptist Church. Mr. Bonzo was born June 24, 1949 in Elwood City, PA. He was a son of the late Dale Robert Bonzo and Mary Jane Wolfe Bonzo. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the VA Medical Center in Salisbury. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Bonzo was a member of Central Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Wanda Bonzo. Mr. Bonzo is survived by his wife, Karen McLane Bonzo; daughters, Lynnette Bonzo-Corriher of Landis and Lori Street and her husband, Todd of OH; son, Thomas H. Bonzo, Jr. and his wife, Joy of Landis; sisters, Dolores Wiley and her husband, Bill, Geneva Bonzo and Molly Brandt and her husband, Glenn all of PA; brothers, Rusty Bonzo of PA and Sam Bonzo and his wife, Denise of FL; grandchildren, Joel Safrit, McKenzie Street and Katie Street; honorary mother, Myrtle Beaver of Kannapolis.
