Tony Eugene Evans

Mr. Tony Eugene Evans, 71, passed away Sunday, July 22, 2018, at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 am Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at St. Enoch Lutheran Cemetery. Rev. Dale Cline will officiate. Interment with military honors will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9:00 pm Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.

Mr. Evans was born November 21, 1946 in Concord. He was a son of the late Samuel Dwight and Dorothy Barnett Evans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for First Union Bank and retired from Wachovia Bank where he worked as an Information Technology manager. He was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church and was a former President of the Men's Group, Church Council President and Sunday School Superintendent. Tony was a big presence in the Boy Scouts having earned many awards including the Silver Beaver, Lamb Award, Order of the Arrow and Four Bead Wood Badger to name a few. He also held many positions in the organization including Scout Master, Commissioner and Council Training Chair. He received his 52 year pin 2 years ago.

Mr. Evans is survived by his wife of 52 years, Patsy Smith Evans; son, Todd Eugene Evans and wife Chinami of Schaumburg, IL; brother, Darrell Wayne Evans and wife Nancy of Salisbury; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
