Tony Michael Schmidt

Mr. Tony Michael Schmidt, 53, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous 10 year battle, fought with determination, strength and humor, against ALS.

A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at The Amity House at Lady's Funeral Home. Please dress casually and come celebrate Tony's life.

Mr. Schmidt was born January 5, 1965 in Streator, IL. He was a son of Judy Bayer Whitcomb and the late Michael William Schmidt. He was a telecommunications design engineer. He previously worked for Concord Telephone Company and most recently worked for Byers Engineering Company in Gastonia. Tony was an avid bodybuilder having been inspired by Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Tokar Schmidt; was a devoted son to his mother, Judy and step-father, Wes Whitcomb of Melbourne, FL; and an amazing brother to his two sisters, Kim Charlton and husband Gene of Sebastian, FL and Julie Atkins of Vero Beach, FL.
