Tony Dayton Strickland, 70, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2016, at Liberty Commons Nursing Center in Salisbury.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. David Haltom and Rev. Garland Faw will officiate. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Wednesday at Lady's Funeral Home, Kannapolis.
Mr. Strickland was born April 22, 1946 in Columbus County, NC. He was a son of the late Wally Dayton Strickland and Arlene Strickland Strickland. He formerly worked as a welder for many years and then worked in the log home industry. He was very active in many areas of his church at Truth Temple. He was also greatly involved with the TV Ministry and the Christian School at Truth Temple.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Ted and Maxie Strickland.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Stewart Strickland; four children, Kristen Mann and husband Alex, Brandon Strickland and wife Candace, and Joe Strickland and wife Sherry, all of China Grove, and Tammy Burke and her husband Michael of Salisbury; eight grandchildren, Ava, Ayden, Makayla, Jenna, Janna, Amelia, Bryan and Andrew; one brother, Frank Strickland and wife Tammy; sisters, Betty Grainger, Faye Rollins and husband Lee, Mary Jo White and husband Ellis, Pat Register and husband Fred, Beulah Fink and husband John and Sylvia Henderson and her husband Kenny.
