Vance Dixon Bowers

Vance Dixon Bowers, Jr., 59, passed away Monday, July 7, 2014, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Powers Drive Baptist Church in Orlando, FL. Dr. Jerald Hicks will officiate.

Vance was born on December 16, 1954 in Richmond, VA. He was a son of Vernice Ferguson Bowers of Kannapolis and the late Vance Dixon Bowers, Sr. He worked in commercial construction and later was a caregiver to his son. Vance was a member of the Sunshine State Vintage Motocross Club.

In addition to his mother, Vance is survived by his wife, Brenda Niles Bowers; two daughters, Amie Lou Bowers Florence and Amanda Lee Bowers and Josh Dunnington, both of Orlando, FL; son, Vance Dixon Bowers, III of Kannapolis; sister, Debra Bowers Cleary of Winter Park, FL; brother, Thomas Bowers of Floral City, FL; two grandchildren, Kaidence Lacie Florence and Radley Randall Dunnington; and many nieces and nephews.
