Vellie Honeycutt Sills

Mrs. Vellie Honeycutt Sills, 87, died Monday, March 10, 2008, at The Haven at Highland Creek. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 13, 2008, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by The Reverend Julie Hill, associate pastor of Davidson College Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service between 1 and 2 p. m. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Born August 1, 1920, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Ephram Elexander and Eliza Morton Honeycutt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Perry Sills. Survivors include her daughter, Angela Sills Baucom and husband, Latta, of Davidson; and sons, Jeffrey Kent Sills and wife Moira of Fort Worth, Tx and Joseph Perry Sills Jr., and wife Molly, of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Martin Baucom and wife Jennifer of Durham, Brian Baucom and wife Emily of Mount Pleasant SC, Rosemary Sills of Kansas City, Mo, Caroline Sills of Fort Worth, Tx, Ryan Sills of Greenville SC, and Katie Sills of Greenville, SC; great grandsons Sam Baucom and Jack Baucom of Durham, and Lewis Baucom of Mount Pleasant, SC.
