Vera Ellen Frye

Vera Ellen Conley Frye, 87, a resident of Five Oaks Manor, Concord, and formerly of Lane Street, Kannapolis, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the care facility. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, January, 23, 2010 at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home in Marmet, WV. Pastor Ned Crouch will officiate. Interment will follow at the Marmet Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Born May 14, 1922 in Hernshaw, WV, Mrs. Frye was the daughter of the late Seldon Conley and Ida Cain Conley. She was a homemaker and a member of Marmet Church of the Nazarene. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Frye, who died November 6, 1988; two sisters, Hazel C. Knapp and Mary C. Thomas; and a brother, Kenneth Conley. Survivors include two daughters, Connie Sue Bower and husband, Jack, of Concord, Judith Ann Pearson and husband, Curt, of Manassas, WV; a son, Earl David Frye and wife, Lenna, of Titusville, FL; six grandchildren, Debbie Waddell, David Frye, Roger Pearson, Kenneth Pearson, Jonathan Bower and Michael Bower; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
