Vera Rae Thompson

Mrs. Vera Rae Previtte Thompson, 60, of Birch Street passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012, at her home.

A funeral service is scheduled for 4:00 pm Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Highest Praise Worship Center in China Grove. Rev. Wayne Miller will officiate. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:45 pm Sunday at the church.

Burial is scheduled for 11:00 am Monday at the Salisbury National Cemetery.

Vera was born November 15, 1951 in Cabarrus County. She was the daughter of the late Thurman Dee Previtte and Marie Teal Previtte. She had over 41 years of service at CMC-NorthEast in Concord as an LPN and then as an RN and was a member of the IV team. She was also a member of Highest Praise Family Worship Center.

She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Danny Lewis Thompson; three sons, Danny Thompson, Michael Thompson and wife, Shania, Stephen Thompson and wife, Elizabeth, all of Kannapolis; brother, Hugh Previtte and wife, Ann of Conway, AR; and eight grandchildren, Dylon, Brianna, Jordan, Justen, Jaykob, Samantha, Nicholas and James.

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
