Virginia White Benfield

Mrs. Virginia White Benfield, 93, of 922 Oval Street, Kannapolis, died Saturday, November 5, 2005, at NorthEast Medical Center. A graveside service with interment to follow will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 8, 2005, at Carolina Memorial Park. The Rev. David Prather will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home. Born July 19, 1912, in Alexander County, she was the daughter of the late John Wesley White and Maggie Gilbert White. She retired several years ago from Cannon Mills and was a member of North Kannapolis Baptist Church. Her husband, Robert Edward Benfield, preceded her in death on November 12, 1977. Survivors include a daughter, Sharon McLester of Winston Salem; a brother, Lonnie White of Kannapolis; and a grandson, Scott Wagoner and wife, Carrie, of Concord.
