Wade Reid

Mr. Wade Reid, 66, of 2161 Dartwood Drive, Concord, died Tuesday, June 12, 2007, at NorthEast Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2007, at Friendship Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Marler Starnes will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm. Wednesday, June 13, 2007, at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times, they will be at the residence. Born May 3, 1941, in Mitchell County, he was the son of the late George W. Reid and Maggie Benfield Reid. He was retired from Acme Petroleum in Gastonia. Survivors include his wife, Mary Sellers Reid; two sons, Mark Reid and wife, Sherry, Brian Reid and wife, Taylor, both of Harrisburg; two sisters, Mabel Pittman and husband, Ron, of Charlotte, Faye Hollifield of Spruce Pine; three brothers, Bruce Reid and wife, Kim, of Dallas, Ray Reid and wife, Barbara, Jerry Reid and wife, Arthelia, both of Bakersville; and four grandchildren, Justin Reid, Matthew Reid, Parker Reid and McKenzie Sheppard.
