Walter Melvin Wilkinson

Mr. Walter Melvin Wilkinson, 84, of 490 Patterson Farm Rd., Mooresville, died Thursday, October 24, 2002 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2002, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. John Mark Beam III and the Rev. Sam Crisp will officiate. Entombment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lady's Funeral Home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born June 15, 1918 in Cabarrus County, he was a son of the late Walter William Wilkinson and the late Julie Ann Robinson Wilkinson. Mr. Wilkinson was a very successful dairy and cattle farmer. He was a member of St. Enoch Lutheran Church and attended Kannapolis West A Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Ada Irelle Fowler Wilikinson; one son, Lester Wilkinson and his wife, Janice, of Mooresville; one daughter, Ellen Abercrombie and her husband, Wayne, of Mooresville; one sister, Wilma Hartsell of Kannapolis; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Griffin and her husband, Archie, of Indian Trail, Emily Abercrombie of Orlando, FL, Leigh Wilson and her husband, Brian, of Newnan, GA and Christopher Wilkinson of Mooresville; one great-grandchild, Ainsley Wilson of Newnan, GA.
