Walter Edward Wise, Sr.

Mr. Walter Edward Wise, Sr. age 90, of Centergrove Road, died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at his home. Funeral services for Mr. Wise will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday in Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home Wednesday prior to the service. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Craver Wise who died in 2008. Mr. Wise was born on August 16, 1920, in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Robert Lee Wise and Dora Matilda Stegal Wise. He was a US Air Force veteran of World War II and then operated the "Mr. Softee" trucks in the area. Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee Wise, Sr. (Gwendolyn) of Kannapolis and Walter Edward Wise, Jr. (Sandy) of Rockwell; one daughter, Patricia Herman (Donald) of Landis; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
