Mr. Walton Paul Fritts, Jr., 81, passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 29, 2012, at Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church. Rev. Jimmy Barnhill and Rev. Ralph Adams will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm, Monday, prior to the service at Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Mr. Fritts was born on May 1, 1931 in Rowan County. He was the son of the late Walton Paul Fritts, Sr. and Anne Mae Foster Fritts. He was a radio broadcaster for WGTL in Concord and WMFR in High Point. Mr. Fritts retired as a dispatcher from the NC Highway Patrol after 27 years of service. He was an active member of Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church for over 15 years where he taught Sunday school. He enjoyed coin collecting.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Fritts Broadway and Ludean Fritts.
Mr. Fritts is survived by his wife, Louise Griffin Fritts; son, Jeff Fritts and wife Donna of China Grove; brother, James "Jimmy" Fritts; grandchildren, Caleb Fritts, Benjamin Fritts and Daniel Fritts.
