Wilburn Eugene Livengood

Mr. Wilburn Eugene "Goody" "Little Daddy" Livengood, 93, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, August 20, 2021, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Mike Roper will officiate. Military Honors provided by the US Air Force will be held following the chapel service. The service will also be live streamed here: www.ladysfuneralhome.com/live.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Thursday at Lady's Funeral Home.

The family requests masks and social distancing to be observed.

Mr. Livengood was born June 4, 1928 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late Jacob Ralph Livengood, Sr. and Zula McDaniel Livengood. He was a member of Concord Church of Christ. He was also a graduate of Concord High School Class of 1946. He loved flying airplanes of all types, in which he learned how to fly at the young age of 12. Wilburn also owned and operated a flight school, having logged numerous hours on all kinds of planes. SMSgt. Livengood was awarded the WW ll Victory Medal, Army of Occupation Medal - Germany The Berlin Airlift Clasp, Medal for Humane Action, the Air Force Longevity Service Medal, W-8 Oak Leaf Clusters, Air Reserve Forces Meritorious Medal, W-4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Small Arms Expert Ribbons, Combat Readiness Medal W-4 Oak Leaf Clusters and Vietnam Service Medal W-5 BSS.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Nancy Carolyn McClamrock Livengood; two sons, Eugene Livengood, Jr. and David Livengood; and brother, J. Ralph Livengood, Jr.

Mr. Livengood is survived by daughter, Sharon Harwood and husband Dan of Concord; sister, Martha Tanbini of Waddell, AZ; brother, Cecil Livengood of Greensboro; sister-in-law, Julia Livengood of Parker, CO; three grandchildren, Alex Cranford of Concord, Ginny Yost of Mt. Pleasant and Jennifer Livengood of Davidson; and two great grandchildren, Olivia Helin and Tristan Helin. He is also survived by his special caregiver and friend, Sammie Barlow.
