Willard Long Scercy

Mrs. Willard "Mollie" Long Scercy, 85, of 4700 Old Concord-Salisbury Road, Kannapolis, died Sunday, December 21, 2003, at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jim Wellington will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At other times they will be at the residence. Born December 9, 1918, in Cabarrus County, she was a daughter of the late George Cecil Long and Lizzie Neisler Long. Mrs. Scercy retired several years ago from the sewing room of Cannon Mills Company. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. William Edward Scercy. Survivors include a daughter, Shirlee Dunlap of Charlotte; one son, Max Wayne Scercy of North Wilkesboro; a sister, Luva Wise of Kannapolis; six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
