Mr. William "Bill" D. Burgess, 92, passed away Monday, September 23, 2024, at his home in Enochville.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, September 27, 2024, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chad Hayes will officiate. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park in China Grove.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Friday at Lady's Funeral Home.
Bill was born November 16, 1931 in Taylorsville. He was the son of the late William Clayton Burgess and Texie Teague Burgess. He was a veteran of the U.S Army and was a lifetime member of Blackwelder Park Baptist Church. In his earlier years, he worked at Denny's Wheel Alignment. He retired from Cannon Mills Plant One where he worked as a Supervisor in the Distribution Center. He was an avid bowler and won many league trophies. He enjoyed working and fixing small engines and working in the garden. He also enjoyed playing and teaching board games and card games and playing out in the yard with his grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Belle Basinger Burgess; and a daughter, Debra Lynn Burgess Machner.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Karen Lambert of Kannapolis; son, Neil Burgess and wife Lisa of China Grove; five grandchildren, Clint Brown, Brittney White and husband Estus, Summer Lambert and fiance Peter Von Dyck, Molly Burgess and Colby Burgess.
