Mr. William Kenneth Foil, 80, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord. A funeral service is scheduled for 2:30 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at Memorial Baptist Church. Rev. Tim McQueen will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:00 pm Monday at Lady's Funeral Home. Mr. Foil will lie in state from 2 to 2:30 pm Tuesday at the church. Mr. Foil was born August 22, 1931 in Kannapolis. He was the son of the late Robert M. Foil and Callie Barger Foil. He worked as a commercial architect and was a member of the American Institute of Architects. He served in US Navy during the Korean conflict. He was also a member and deacon at Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of the American Legion post in Kannapolis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, John Foil and brother, Robert Foil. Mr. Foil is survived by his wife Evelyn M. Foil; daughter, Marcie Godfrey and husband Mike of Kannapolis; sons, Ken Foil of Union Grove and Jeff Foil and wife Penny of Easley, SC; sisters, Pat Conner of Lincolnton, Chris Johnston of Winston-Salem, Nancy Skinner of Hickory, Eleanor Foil of Salisbury and Bernice "Gerry" Allen of Marion, VA; brother, Gene Foil of Kannapolis; grandchildren, Justin Foil, Jeremy Foil and wife Andrea, Kenny Foil and wife Jessie, Anthony Foil, James Foil, Grace Foil, David Godfrey and Amanda Roberts and husband Jared and great grandchild, Sophia Foil. Memorials may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, West Campus, 1785 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
