Mr. William Taylor "Bill" Griffin, 80, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016, at Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 am Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Kannapolis. The Rev. Dr. Darryl Evans will officiate. Interment will follow at the VA National Cemetery in Salisbury at 2 pm with full military honors.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 am at the church prior to the service.
Mr. Griffin was born May 16, 1936 in Mooresville. He was the son of the late William Alexander Griffin and Mattie Ruth Taylor Griffin. He worked for the North Carolina Department of Corrections as a corrections officer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and later with the National Guard.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his two sons, Anthony Chapman of Landis and Johnny Griffin of Kannapolis, four grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
