William Keith Johnson

Mr. William Keith "Bill" Johnson, 75, passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 1:00 pm Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Kannapolis Church of God. Dr. Greg Sloop will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 am - 12:45 pm Saturday at Kannapolis Church of God.

Mr. Johnson was born October 14, 1940 in Cabarrus County, NC. He was the son of the late William Watt Johnson and Ruth Whittington Johnson. He retired as an agent from the former Life of Virginia Insurance Company, now G.E. Capitol Life Insurance. He was an active member of Kannapolis Church of God, where he served as an Elder, and Usher Chairman. Mr. Johnson graduated from Concord High School, class of 1959. Bill was a charter member and fire chief of the former Poplar Tent Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed serving his community with pride and dignity.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his wife of 55 years Doris Johnson; two sons, Jeffrey Keith Johnson and fiancée Candy Owensby and Jody Heath Johnson and wife Susan, all of Concord; sister, Ann Covington of Mt. Pleasant; two grandsons, Jacob and Jeremy Johnson; great-grandson, Jason Johnson; and three step-grandchildren, Taylor, Anna and Hope.
