William Warren Stancil

Mr. William "Bill" Warren Stancil, 78, passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00, Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Bible Way Church at 1831 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis. Rev. David Jacobs will officiate.

The family will receive friends after the service Thursday at the church.

Mr. Stancil was born on January 15, 1934 in Cabarrus County. He was the son of the late Jack Stancil and Maxie Barrier Stancil. He was a truck driver retiring from Roadway Express. He then drove a dump truck for the NCDOT in Rowan County. Bill was very fond of his cats and dogs. He was a graduate of Concord High School, class of 1954.

Including his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Nicholas Burns.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Black Stancil; three children, Alan Stancil and wife, Rita of Concord, Mike Stancil of Newton and Amy Neas and husband, Troy of China Grove; sister, Carolyn Clark of Kannapolis; brother, Joseph "Joe" Stancil of Concord; two step-children, Jeff Howell and wife, Shelia of Concord and Jennifer Pethel and husband, Bryan of Greenville, SC; nine grandchildren, Nina Honeycutt, Melissa Miers, Jessie, Sarah and Breann Stancil, Evan and Ashley Neas, Troy and Trent Howell and 6 great grandchildren.
