William Clarence Troutman

Mr. William "Bill" Clarence Troutman, 94, of Old Beatty Ford Road, passed away Friday, September 14, 2012, at Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis.

A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday, September 17, 2012, at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church. Rev. David Raiford will officiate. Entombment with military honors will follow at Carolina Memorial Park Mausoleum in Kannapolis.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:45 pm Monday at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church.

Mr. Troutman was born September 14, 1918 in Cabarrus County. He was a son of the late William Manless Troutman and Ida Wensil Troutman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served during World War II. He retired from Cannon Mills where he was a loom fixer. Mr. Troutman was a charter member of Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church where he served as a Sunday School Superintendent and a member of the Methodist Men. Bill was also a member of VFW Poston-Perkins Post 8989.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Ernest, Raymond and Harry Troutman; and three sisters, Nan Hartis, Mary Bowers and Margie Patterson.

Mr. Troutman is survived by his wife, Helen Cline Troutman; son, Dr. Steve Troutman and wife Gayle of Mebane; son, Larry Troutman and wife Brenda of Concord; two grandsons, Dr. Jason Troutman and wife Jamie and Josh Troutman; two granddaughters, Jordan Troutman and Banning Troutman; and three great grandchildren, Caden, Casey, and Zaylee.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church, 6001 Old Salisbury-Concord Road, Kannapolis, NC 28083.
