Willie Harrison Brewer

Mr. Willie Harrison "Bill" Brewer, 85, of 921 Maywood Street, Kannapolis, died Tuesday, May 27, 2003, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2003, at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James Strickland and Rev. Wes Judy will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Born March 7, 1918, in Alexander County, NC, he was a son of the late Benjamin Wiley Brewer and the late Noney Lee Shoemaker Brewer. He retired in 1982 as a mechanic with Cannon Mills Company. He was a member of West Point Baptist Church. Mr. Brewer enjoyed his family, friends and special pet, "Missy". In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Pearl Queen Brewer, who died January 18, 1991; and a son, Jerry E. Brewer, who died February 24, 1988. Survivors include two daughters, Nancy B. Lloyd of Kannapolis and Kay B. Yates of Mooresville; three sons, William Kenneth "Butch" Brewer of Kannapolis, David E. Brewer of Greenville, SC, Larry M. Brewer of Davidson; seven grandchildren, Aprille B. Henrickson of Concord, LeAnn B. Barnette and Cindy Brewer, both of Greenville, SC, Jennifer B. Childers of Norfolk, VA, Bradley Brewer of Davidson, Brett Lloyd and Valerie Lloyd, both of Kannapolis; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Cole Henrickson, Adam Kerry Barnette and Amy Catherine Barnette.
